Dutch Language

The Dutch are master linguists. Most can speak at least one language in addition to Dutch. It is common to meet people in Holland who are easily able to converse in English, French or German as well. Dutch is the official language of the Netherlands and it is used daily by 90% of the people. Another 3% of the population consider Frisian to be their official Dutch language (approximately 350,000 people) mainly in the northern province of Friesland, where it is recognised as an official language. Turkish and Arabic are also spoken in the Netherlands which has relatively high representation of these cultures (approximately 2%).
